Rewiggle Podcast: starring Sir Tom Hughes-Hallett

The chair of our Governing Council, Sir Tom Hughes-Hallett, is featured on the newly launched rewiggle podcast, to discuss the impact of the world-leading science taking place at the John Innes Centre.

Rewiggle, hosted by Neha Dutt, focuses on conversations with those aiming to build a more resilient world, aligning well with our vision of Healthy Plants, Healthy People, Healthy Planet. The guests include people who have dared to imagine a more financially and environmentally resilient world and are acting on it.

In this episode, Tom shares how his role at JIC has taught him that nature is a wonderful thing, but without science and evidence we cannot bank on it.

In conversation with Neha, he explores how our work strives to support farmers, ensure food security, and counter malnutrition and plant disease. From developing safe, drought and flood tolerant crops, to crops that need less fertiliser to grow, they discuss our commitment to translating research into real-world impact.
