Dimitra Papatziamou

Dimitra’s research focuses on addressing fundamental biological questions related to protein homeostasis, membrane remodelling, and chromosome segregation across a range of model organisms.

Her work has primarily focused on protein-protein interactions and protein-DNA dynamics, integrating protein biochemistry, biophysics, structural biology, and proteomics to understand complex cellular processes.

Recently, Dimitra joined the Montez group to study another fundamental protein-DNA dynamic process in Arabidopsis thaliana this time. Specifically, the Montez group is focusing on chromatin regulation and its structural, biochemical and biophysical interaction with nucleosomes and changes that occur upon adaptation to environmental cues (both long-term, e.g. temperature exposure, and short-term, e.g. daily rhythms).
